Orbita Laika: The New Generation App is already available in stores. The application, which includes access to interactive content through augmented reality, is the result of the collaboration of RTVE and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), Studio Brainstorm S.L, and SlashMobility.
Orbita Laika, the late night program about science news, recently relaunched by La 2, sums up to other companies that want make the best of the advantages that the mobile channel can offer. The app, which is already available in stores for iOS and Android devices, offers the user the possibility to face their smartphone to the TV screen during the broadcast – or also through RTVE on demand – and view 3D objects in augmented reality. The viewer can also access 360º videos, extended interviews and more information on all the topics covered in each episode. This, which fits perfectly with the line and content of the program, makes the experience as a spectator much more entertaining and complete.
To the functionalities of this new application that we have already mentioned, also adds a part of gamification that includes a quiz with questions related to the contents that is emitted and a comparative ranking of all the followers who participate. A live chat with the collaborators and notifications that alert the viewer when the program is about to begin, complete the functionalities of the application.
